House - Latest from TV Guide Magazine - What's Next for Huddy? | Cytat: | First the kiss and now this! It's wedding day and House and Cuddy are shaking booty on the dance floor. She's in a slinky backless gown. He's in a tuxedo (and sneakers, naturally) and they're talking guest lists and chocolate fountains. For reals, as House likes to say. Fox would kill us if we spilled too much about this upcoming House episode but, OK, House and Cuddy aren't the ones tying the knot just yet. Of course, the way their romance is plowing ahead after six seasons of platonic simmer, it might be wise to keep your Monday nights free just in case.
So far this season, House (Hugh Laurie) and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) have cuddled, snuggled, snogged, fondled like 10th graders and played a hot round of sexy Boggle (i lobe you? Really, House?).
Since House and Cuddy have answers for everything, TV Guide Magazine barraged the actors who play them with snoopy questions in a penthouse suite of the Los Angeles hotel where the wedding scenes were being shot. There was plenty of giggling and flirty repartee, even as we asked the snoopiest question of all: Was consummating Cuddy and House's relationship the kiss of death for the series?
TV Guide Magazine: Isn't this what killed Moonlighting all those years ago? The two main characters got it on and their chemistry died, right?
Laurie: That show was different, as I recall. Those characters hated each other and didn't want to be together. House definitely wants to be with Cuddy and Cuddy is right there with him.
Edelstein: Right. House and Cuddy have worked together but never felt handcuffed. Though handcuffs are an interesting idea.
Laurie: Careful. I smell a land mine.
Edelstein: Besides, this isn't just the simple release of sexual tension.
Laurie: Not at all. It's the beginning of something and actually can bring much, much greater tension than a simple... release, as Lisa so bravely put it.
TV Guide Magazine: How shocked were you when executive producer David Shore shared the top-secret script pages that ended last season with your characters finally hooking up?
Laurie: We had a bit of a suspicion, didn't we?
Edelstein: Yeah, yeah. Cuddy and House couldn't just keep  around it forever and ever.
Laurie: But we didn't actually know how the scene was going to go.
TV Guide Magazine: Did it go awkwardly? You've worked together for so long, it's the equivalent — in the real world — of having to kiss one's office manager or something.
Laurie: I was going to say it was like sleeping with my sister, but that just...
Edelstein: That's just wrong in so many ways.
Laurie: In so many ways.
Edelstein: We had kissed before on the show, so we sort of got that out of the way several times. Like, OK, that's done. But the whole taking someone's pants off, as I had to do in the opening episode this season, was a bit more extreme.
Laurie: And you're doing it in front of 30 or 40 people, rather than just the two of us.
Edelstein: That's a lot of guys in jeans, arms folded, waiting for the scene where I have to take my robe off and stand there in a pair of nude-colored panties. I'd have to yell, "Private moment!" and they'd all sort of avert their gaze.
Laurie: Except that one guy.
Edelstein: Oh, God. This one random security guard showed up and had no purpose other than to stare straight at us.
Laurie: He was a fireman, actually, and he seemed certain a fire would break out right there between my...
Edelstein: Um, land mine!
TV Guide Magazine: Well, thank goodness for the laptop this season that kept you from showing us the full House, so to speak.
Laurie: It was a 17-inch laptop, by the way. Write that down. I don't want your readers to think I could get away with the 13-incher.
Edelstein: Can you write down that I'm blushing?
TV Guide Magazine: So what happens now? Given your characters are at this wedding for an episode airing in January, it's safe to assume this isn't just a two- or three-episode fling.
Edelstein: They don't tell us. But yes, we know the relationship continues through a good part of the season. This is real for them. For Cuddy, certainly, it's something she couldn't avoid, though she's been trying to avoid it for a long time. For a while, she thought the one-night stand she and House had ages ago had dealt with this issue, but after House came out of rehab and was coming at her so strong, it changed something in her.

"I went on a European adventure," says Edelstein. "Five days in, I broke up with a boyfriend, then a volcano erupted. But I made myself live through it even though there were times I was feeling quite homesick. In the end, it was a very special trip that a lot of people never ever get to do, and I felt grateful." For Laurie, it was all work and no play. "I was an idiot and spent the summer making a movie," Laurie says about his forthcoming indie comedy, The Oranges, in which he has a May-December romance with Gossip Girl Leighton Meester. "I would be December," he says. |

He's still sort of scared and weird and as manipulative as he was before, even with children. Maybe especially with children. And he's also capable of hurting others.

Laurie: Well, between House and Cuddy, House is the one who has a lot further to fall if this falls apart. He's not been in the business of romance for some time, and therefore this feels like a bigger risk for him.
Edelstein: In a way, this is as epic a journey for House as it was for him to get sober or explore one drug over another. It's a time for both characters that's fraught with danger and full of dramatic opportunities.
Do you think House will torpedo this relationship the way he does with everything good that comes into his life?
Laurie: It seems to be a question of when, not if. House is a self-destructive character, and I suppose the better things get for him and Cuddy, the more dangerous it gets because he's more likely to sabotage it.
We here Cuddy and House go on a double date next episode with Wilson and Sam. How did that go?
Edelstein: It was so, so hot.
Laurie: Watch yourself.
Edelstein: No, I mean it was about 110 degrees where we shot and I had to wear cashmere, which made it especially wonderful. But, yeah, we got to drive go-karts and have a lot of fun.
Laurie: What's great about Wilson is that he handles House's relationship with Cuddy so much better than House handled it the other way around, which was frankly childish in the extreme. But those go-karts were definitely fun.
Speaking of fun, you've played this characters for close to seven years. Do you still enjoy it? Do you still care about them?
Edelstein: I'm still surprised and excited by the show and absolutely love coming to work, but I wouldn't say I carry Cuddy with me outside of work.
Laurie: That's a very interesting question. I like House certainly, and I hope he does well. As an actor, I want to make sure he stays dramatically interesting and believable. And while I never really thought about this, I guess I do carry him with me. There are moements when he makes me laugh way after the event. It can be a couple of years later and I will remember a moment or a funny line only he could have said, and think, "My God, this character is really alive for me." But then I'll realize I'm sitting in traffic, lauging like an idiot to myself.
Finally, how has the romance between House and Cuddy changed things between you two personally? Do you feel a little flirtier with each other or more free somehow?
Laurie: [Folding his arms, shaking his head] There's no danger in that question, Lisa. Absolutely no danger whatsoever.
Edelstein: Oh, no, Hugh. That's not a land mine at all. |

Masters. "Considering how horrific House is to doctors, just imagine him being your first mentor," says exec producer Katie Jacobs. "Her first challenge is: Can she stay on House's team?"
It's Cuddy who "insists House hire a woman, because she feels there's way too much testosterone on the team," Lisa Edelstein says. "Cuddy picks Masters and sort of shoves her on House."

Amber's debut in Episode 6 finds Dr. Masters treating an underhanded political campaign manager (Heroes' Jack Coleman), who develops hepatitis C. "I'm the case of the week, so I worked with almost all the doctors, including Amber, who was fantastic," reports Jack. "I think people are going to love and relate to her role — a socially awkward kid who was always a little ahead of everyone else."
Jacobs says it's too soon to pair up Masters romantically, even with randy Dr. Chase (Jesse Spencer). Jesse agrees that they wouldn't be a good match. "She's too uptight for him and too much like what [ex-wife] Cameron [Jennifer Morrison] used to be," he says. "She comes in all wide-eyed and moralistic, and Chase loves watching House devour her. He takes her to the cleaners and it's hilarious."
By the way, Jennifer tells me she wishes Amber good luck in the role. But as for returning to House, Jennifer says she hasn't been in recent contact with anyone from the show. When she left, "they guaranteed me three more episodes — if they write them. So if they do, I'll, of course, make myself available," she says. (No easy task since she's now on CBS' How I Met Your Mother). "But if they decide not to, they still have to pay me." |

Kilka informacji o nowej postaci

Tak jak zapowiadali twórcy, w siódmej serii „House’a” pojawią się dwie nowe żeńskie postaci. Pierwsza z nich zadebiutuje w serialu już wkrótce, bo w szóstym odcinku. Kim będzie, czego się po niej spodziewać i jak będzie wyglądać? To ostatnie możecie sprawdzić, bo pojawiło się właśnie pierwsze zdjęcie Amber Tamblyn w „Housie„. Mamy też trochę przecieków na temat samej bohaterki.
Imię nowej postaci to „potrójne M” – Martha M. Masters. Będzie to młoda lekarka, zatrudniona do zespołu House’a w zastępstwie nieobecnej Trzynastki. Czując „zbyt wiele testosteronu w powietrzu” Cuddy niejako wymusi na Housie przyjęcie kobiety. Martha będzie jej wyborem z którym House będzie musiał się pogodzić.
A teraz wyobraźcie sobie młodą, niewinną dziewczynę, która wpada w łapska House’a i jego zdegenerowanego emocjonalnie męskiego zespołu. Jej pierwszym zadaniem będzie udowodnienie House’owi, że zasługuje na to by pozostać w zespole. Jej pierwszy przypadek: menadżer polityczny, który trafia do szpitala z zapaleniem wątroby typu C (w tej roli gościnnie Jack Coleman).
Jak zapowiada Katie Jacobs, należy się przygotować na wiele „demoralizujących rzeczy” jeśli chodzi o nową lekarkę. Martha trafi do zespołu pełna wiary i ideałów, na dodatek nieco spięta jeśli chodzi o relacje damsko-męskie. Nie jest niczym zaskakującym, że wpadnie w oko Chase‘owi. Jak sytuacja się rozwinie? Tego dowiemy się już wkrótce.
