Uwaga, spory spoiler! Opis drugiego odcinka. Jeśli jesteś pewny/pewna że chcesz przeczytać to zaznacz poniższy tekst:

We begin with two women playing tennis. They've got a good match going, until the brunette clutches her chest and collapses. Opening credits? Nope, not yet, they're playing mind games with us here. Now we're at a construction site, where some very heavy object is being lifted by a crane. Suddenly, said VHO crashes to the ground, as the crane operator has lapsed into unconsciousness. But wait! There's more: Now we're at a boxing match, where Bald Boxer has the other dude against the ropes. Looks like a clear victory for Baldy, until he suddenly backs off and drops to the ground. Next, we're in a band practice room. A tuba player sits merrily playing a jolly tune, as only a person playing a comically large insturment can. It's less fun, though, when he starts coughing uncontrollably, spits up a bunch of blood, and falls to the ground with the tuba. The scene changes to a math class, where the instructor is writing some numbers on the chalkboard (classroom looks suspiciously like House's make-shift conference room from last season). I guess you know where this is going. Ha, turns out you don't--way to jump the gun, dude: In fact, 13 comes in and tells the teacher that the donor from whom she recieved a corneal transplant also donated tissue to others, all of whom are dead or close to it. She hurries the teacher out of the classroom. FINALLY, we get the opening titles. Geez. That took forever.

Feel like you've missed something? No worries, because Foreman tells us all about it as he explains the situation to House. There are six recipients in all: 4 now dead, 1 very ill, and the teacher, who is fine right now, though quite nervous. The 4 "fully dead," as Foreman puts it, died from conditions connected to organs unrelated to the ones they had transplanted. Example: One dude got a new heart and lung, but his liver failed, killing him. However, the only thing these folks have in common is this donor.

House is pretending not to pay attention, instead trying to convince himself that he doesn't need Wilson, asking himself what did Wilson really do for him, anyway. The team ignores him while they brainstorm about what killed these people. Sick of House's rambling, Kutner tells him "He paid for your lunch, liked monster trucks, and was your conscience." Also, you were totally in love with each other and wanted to have sexy times. OK, fine, Kutner didn't say that part. Anyway, the team has ruled out cancer, but House stands up and says quite confidently, "It's cancer."

The team follows their limping leader down the hall as they argue about the cancer thing. House is convinced the donor had cancer, though he died due to decapitation. Ow. He sends his fellows off on various missions related to finding out more about the donor. Oh, and Foreman has been wearing pink scrubs this whole time.

House makes his way to the cafeteria, where he grabs some food items and forces his way through to the cash register, where another doctor is paying for his own lunch. House tells the cashier to add his lunch to this other guy's tab, and for some reason the other guy goes along with it. This makes House happy, so he follows this guy to his table. Turns out this guy is into monster trucks. House continues assessing this guy's friend-ability until Foreman comes up and says that the patient's right eye, her only working one, is failing and that it should be removed. House disagrees; he thinks the brain is the problem. He invites New Friend over to his house after work. "You know I'm not gay, right?" New Friends asks.

"Neither am I," says House. "If you don't wanna have sex, that's cool with me."

"I'm not coming over to your home," says New Friend.

"I'll grow on ya," House assures him.

In the patient's room (I think her name is Apple...haha), House is trying to get her to read letters off an eye chart. She fails to do so correctly, but because she isn't squinting, House determines that the eye is fine: It's the brain that's wrong. Foreman is skeptical.

He continues to explain the situation, saying, "We're going to have to remove your whole head." Then he picks up a giant meat cleaver and swings it at Apple's head.

Cut back to Apple screaming in fear. "Hallucination. That's a brain thing, right?" House snarks to Foreman.

The team has reconvened in a doctor's lounge, where they are watching a tape of the boxing match where the one transplant guy died. They're trying to tie all the patients' problems together and telling House that what he says makes no sense.

"That makes no sense," comes a voice. It's a maintenance dude, actually, and he's repairing the coffee machine. Then he calls Taub an idiot. Ha. "Why are you talking?" Taub asks snottily. It is too a word, shut up.

Coffee guy then goes off on a rant about how just because blue-collar people aren't educated like doctors doesn't mean they can't be geniuses. They try to ignore him, but coffee guy keeps butting in. He's wearing argyle socks, which Kutner finds odd. House finally speaks up and admits that this guy is actually a private investigator he hired to look into to the donor's past. The team found out nothing interesting about the donor, but the PI found a lot more, including that the donor has an illegitimate kid by his married ex-high school sweetheart and was exposed to a number of toxins. House is impressed with this PI dude.

So after viewing the boxing video, it turns out that House is right, and the brain might be causing these people their problems. He wants the team to do a biopsy on Apple's brain. They don't want to, so he suggests they get the consent of almost-dead guy's wife to do the procedure on him. While Apple and the wife are yelling at each other about the procedure, the almost-dead guy codes. Taub defibrilates over and over again without waiting to see the heart rhythms in between shocks. WTF, Taub. The guy dies. Well at least now they don't need consent.

They find nothing wrong with the brain during the autopsy. House stills thinks it's cancer. Foreman thinks he wants it to be cancer so he can go see Wilsonface. Kutner suggests something that makes House decide they need to do a colonoscopy to see if something in the donor's genetic make-up is causing the recipients to die. For very convoluted reasons, their only option is to perform one on donor's 4-year-old daughter. They convince the mother to consent by blackmailing her with the kid's paternity, about which her husband doesn't know the truth. Really nice.

House is hanging out with his new PI friend in the ice cream truck from which the guy is surveiling somebody. We learn that House is having the guy tail his new potential doctor friend as well. The PI has cleverly determined that what House really wants is to have Wilson watched. Well, yeah. House is sad when the PI tells him that there has been no indication that Wilson is pining for House.

Back at the hospital, the team tells House that the colonoscopy revealed nothing genetic about the donor that could explain the deaths of the recipients. Still, that doesn't rule out a colon problem in the guy who just died, but they need to see his colon at work to determine this. Kutner, ever the innovator, suggests they pump water up there to get it to simulate a living colon. OK, ew. Foreman and Kutner do the procedure. It starts to work. They don't find much at first, so Kutner decides to increase the pressure of the water pump. "Not too much," Foreman warns. Good warning. Too bad Kutner didn't heed it, because soon both men are covered in dead-guy poo.

Back in the conference room, 13 reveals that Apple's heart rate is fast and irregular. Unfortunately, the team has no new ideas, which is pissing House off. Eventually, he tells the team to test Apple's cerebro-spinal fluid. In the meantime, House is going to start her on chemo, in case it is cancer after all.

House heads to Apple's room where he tells Apple that she needs chemo. She doesn't want to sign, but House mindfucks her into going along with it. Apple tells House about she was happier being blind. She used to be an architect, but when after her corneal transplant, she was disappointed because "the world was ugly" and nothing in her life had really changed.

Next, we're outside, where House and PI are following someone. A hot girl that PI just thinks it hot, not someone he's been hired to watch. Sketch. He tells House about how Wilson is attending grief counseling sessions, and that Cameron goes to his place sometimes so they can cry together. Cuddy's been there, too, and Foreman has called. The girl they're stalking figures it out and tells them to stop. "You're very pretty," PI calls after her, but for some reason the girl is not very flattered. Then he tells House that Wilson hasn't mentioned him. House sulks over this until he gets a page from the hospital.

He re-enters Apple's room to find her throwing up. It's just the chemo, but her test results show that her stats are improving. So apparently it is cancer, after all. But: "It's not cancer," House says. He sure can be annoying.

In the conference room, the team tries to convince House that he was right the first time about the cancer, as the chemo results prove. House says that he never thought it was cancer but rather, something that acts like cancer but isn't cancer. Nothing jumps to mind.

Stuck, House goes to the only person who has ever helped him at this point. When Wilson opens his apartment door (not the hotel--they are very wishy-washy with the specifics of this character), House tells him, "I need an epiphany." Wilson does not let him in but doesn't shut the door in his face, either. House tells Wilson about his patient and the cancer-but-not-cancer thing. Wilson tells him to go away and tries to close the door. House stops him and asks, "How are you?" Wilson begs House to go away and let him get on with his life.

House tells Wilson about the PI he hired. Wilson is indignant, but House points that, as they are no longer friends, there is no trust to be breached, so he can do whatever he wants as far as Wilson is concerned. Wilson still hasn't slammed the door, so House continues to tell him about Apple. Wilson responds that he is moving on, that there is a world beyond House whether House acknowledges that or not. "The next time you knock, I'm not answering," he says. House tries not to react. "Nothing yet. Keep talking," he says of the epiphany he went there to seek. Now Wilson closes the door. =(

Outside, PI runs up to House as he walks away from Wilson's place. He'd been listening in. They talk a little about friendship. House asks if he's paying for this conversation (PI has reminded him several times that House has yet to pay for services rendered). "Are we friends?" PI asks.

"No," is the answer.

"Then yes."

"Wanna be my friend?" Aww.

"No, you scare me a little," PI admits.

House goes on about Wilson, and PI interrupts him with some insightful crap. Here it comes...Epiphany face. House limps away faster.

House goes to Cuddy with a new theory: Something is wrong with Apple's brain, causing her sight problems (hence the failed eye test from earlier). He thinks there's something else in her head, "brain but not brain." He needs Cuddy's approval to open the girl's head up. Cuddy is resistant and wants to continue the chemo. House explains about some cancerous cells in the donor that traveled through the recipients' bodies and partially differentiated, landing on a different organ in each person's body. The chemo, he says, appeared to work because it was shrinking these weird cells, but that eventually it'd stop working. Cuddy still doesn't give in, warning him not to force the patient to crash just to get his way.

On his way back to the patient's room, House spots 2 security dudes standing at the door. Cuddy's determined. But so is House. House goes to sit and think in Wilson's empty office until he comes up with a plan. He makes a phone call. In Apple's room, someone is switching her IV meds when the monitors start beeping. "She's crashing!" the still-faceless person yells. As nurses and doctors run in, the camera pans down to show us argyle socks on the faceless person. Oh, House, always so clever.

Now that House appears to be right, Cuddy has no choice but to allow the surgery. In this episode, Chase will be playing a neurosurgeon. He helps another doctor (hopefully a real neurosurgeon) take off the top of Apple's head. From the observation room, House tells Chase about his brilliant med-switching scheme. Chase is not amused, but they've already got the girls' brain exposed, so they keep going. PI joins House. Watching the surgery, he realizes that the patient on the table is the one whose meds he switched. He is gripped with guilt, realizing how serious his actions were. House reassures him with a helpful explanation of the procedure, which is also helpful to us viewers, coincidentally. The neural net the surgeons are putting on Apple's brain will show how fast the neurons are firing. The brain-but-not-brain parts won't fire correctly, telling the doctors which cells to remove. The surgeon who's not Chase alerts House to something he's found. He tells House he thinks he can remove the bad cells.

After the surgery, House waits in Apple's room for her to wake up. House plays with the emergency call button again because he's an asshole. When Apple wakes up, he tells her that the reason the world was so ugly when she got her corneal transplant was that the not-brain cells were causing her visual cortex to process images incorrectly. He unrwraps the gauze around her eyes as he speaks, telling her that the surgery will have corrected this problem. "Things will be what they are," he tells her, uncovering her eyes at last. She looks around the room in awe, then turns to House. "How do I look?" he jokes. "You look sad," she tells him. Touching.

Later, House sits in his office. He picks up the phone and dials a number. "Hey," he says when the person on the other end picks up. "Is there any way I can put you on retainer?" He's hiring a friend. Poor House. Cut to credits. The end.

Ciekawie się zapowiada. Może nawet ciekawiej niż odcinek pierwszy.

Ja tylko w części powstrzymałam się przed przeczytaniem tego spojlera xD. Otóż przeczytałam trochę z początku i trochę z końca xD. Ale mam nadzieję, że przetrwam te dwa tygodnie do odcinka 5x02 i nie przeczytam całego.
